Robert Half Accounting Supervisor in Weymouth, Massachusetts

Description

Our south of Boston client seeks an Accounting Supervisor! You will oversee both month-end close activities and daily accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes. Your leadership skills and expertise in accounting principles will be essential in maintaining compliance and driving operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Close:

  • Lead the month-end close process, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing financial data.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end tasks.

  • Daily Accounting Operations:

  • Supervise daily accounting activities, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.

  • Monitor transaction processing and ensure adherence to established accounting policies and procedures.

  • Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare financial statements, variance analysis, and other management reports on a monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Review financial data for accuracy and completeness before dissemination to stakeholders.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

  • Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

  • Staff Supervision and Development:

  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support to foster professional growth.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.

  • Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and resolving audit inquiries.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. Previous public experience highly preferred.

  • 4+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 1 years in a indirect or direct supervisory role.

  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
