The Sr. Manager of SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) leads SIOP process excellence for Generac. That includes SIOP process excellence and continuous improvement of the phases in the cycle as well as responsibility and focus on business results and value adds for the business. The SIOP leader is responsible for preparing and facilitating SIOP meetings by creating and analyzing multiple scenarios for planning reconciliation, developing the maturity of the SIOP process with the objective of supporting the short and long term business plan and improving the overall customer satisfaction, increasing delivery performances and optimizing working capital.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Product Lifecycle Management: Ensure that portfolio changes are planned with multifunctional team. This includes new product introduction (NPI) and discontinuation plans. Ensure that NPI and discontinuation plans have been properly communicated and are included as an input to the demand planning process.

  • Demand reviews: Ensure the demand review process happens on time, ensuring key team members actively participate and contribute as per their defined roles. Consolidate inputs from markets if needed and analyze demand changes and compare vs financial target.

  • Supply reviews: Ensure that the supply review process is followed, consolidated, and is provided as input in SIOP. Make sure that supply constraints are clearly spelled out with risks and opportunities identified.

  • SIOP meeting preparation: Prepare for monthly meetings, reconciling supply to demand, aligning with the financial plans, understanding the financial implications of different scenarios. Conduct and/or facilitate what-if analysis to create alternate scenarios for reconciling demand, supply, and financial plans. Align with presenters of information on discussion points and ensure that all inputs needed for meetings are available.

  • Meeting facilitation: Facilitate the monthly meetings, ensuring that all information is presented, all stakeholders are engaged, decisions are made, and execution plans articulated with owners and completion dates.

  • Meeting follow-up: Ensure that decisions from the meeting are communicated to each function/department/team including S&OE and, if necessary, and ensure that execution takes place.

  • Key Metrics: SIOP Business Results –Effectiveness, SIOP Maturity, Forecast Accuracy improvement and reduction of bias, Inventory control, OTS

  • Ensure that the SIOP process is sustained to the minimum level of agreed upon maturity.

  • Support in hiring and training of supply planning team.

  • Maintain tracking of attendees, action plan log, outcomes, and summaries of meetings.

  • Continuously seek feedback from stakeholders on the process.

  • Use metrics and analytical tools to understand areas for opportunity and change.

  • Periodically conduct health check on the process and outcome.

  • Drive continuous improvement SIOP culture across the organization.

  • Drive and implement best practices and standardization of each SIOP cycle meeting agenda, content and template. Ensure actionable, quantifiable outcomes.

  • Document current process and identify current challenges and options to improve.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 7 years’ experience in demand planning, market analysis, forecasting.

  • 5+ Experience in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience analyzing and reporting on diverse business segments.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast paced environment;

  • SAP experience

  • Familiarity with SIOP software

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to present information clearly and effectively to a variety of audiences;

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;

  • Ability to work collaboratively across business units’ hierarchy and functions;

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, with excellent Excel skills.

  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams with proven abilities to influence others;

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Up to 25% travel, likely lower and intermittent.
