Controller

Our retail client, located in Sterling Heights, MI, is looking for an experienced Controller to join their team on an interim basis. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset and is comfortable working in the weeds.

The day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Drive strategic financial planning and business strategy initiatives.

• Lead the month-end close process ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

• Implement and oversee process improvements within the financial department to optimize efficiency.

• Manage inventory controls to ensure accuracy and mitigate financial risks.

• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up to date.

• Collaborate with various teams to drive financial performance and achieve company goals.

• Act as a key point of contact for financial inquiries and audits.

  Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following skill sets:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary

• Previous management experience and excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

• Ability to think strategically and be forward-thinking

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity are expected
