POSITION SUMMARY:

Joining the Nestlé Purina factory in St. Joseph means you are joining more than a pet food company, but also a very driven and close-knit team focused on safety, personal growth, development and community. Our St. Joseph factory has enjoyed increased production and reinvestment, including a $30 million project to remodel our pet food kitchen, as well as installation of new raw ingredient processing equipment. As a Factory Quality Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality standards in the development of cat and dog food product. This employee will go throughout the plant to ensure the operators are performing the appropriate sanitation and quality checks per company policy and procedure. Quality and safety are the promises we make on every bag, container, tub, and can – and we continue to deliver on that promise. This is a backshift position and this person will work overnight shifts.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform audits to assure high quality and food safety requirements are being met.

  • Use established procedures to perform laboratory activities to include analytical testing and sensory evaluation.

  • Monitor operations to ensure quality from receiving of raw ingredients through the processing to finished goods shipment.

  • Perform job duties with highest regard for safety

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 + years working in quality, food, production, manufacturing, military, and related environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $39,000 to $57,000 per year. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
