The Senior Director, Genotyping & Reproductive Health will lead the global product management and market development functions to refine and implement the strategy for key portfolios within the Microarray business unit and Genetic Sciences Division through new innovation, cross-divisional collaborations, and commercial and business development initiatives to deliver sustained and accretive growth. The successful candidate will collaborate with other Thermo Fisher businesses and functions to bring the best tools, applications, and solutions to customers globally.

Location: Santa Clara, CA (preferred), Carlsbad, CA

What will you do?

  • Develop and implement strategic plan which includes growth in clinical, research, and applied genotyping markets while protecting and growing established positions in reproductive health markets.

  • Shared responsibility for the P&L to ensure revenue, margin, price, mix are delivered in a balanced fashion.

  • Serve as a leader with vision on the microarray leadership team, driving collaboration for the achievement of business goals including annual operating plans.

  • Direct a team of product management and global market development colleagues while influencing and collaborating closely with key functions including research & development, portfolio management, operations, supply chain, quality, regulatory, commercial, finance, HR.

  • Build a high-performance team by hiring, developing, engaging, and retaining key talent, and lead change across the organization by encouraging trust and accountability with a focus on our customers, continuous improvement, inclusion, and integrity.

  • Evaluate market conditions including business, industry, and competitor trends, and identify customer needs across existing and emerging markets.

  • Establish the portfolio roadmap and drive product commercialization activities including life cycle management, new product development, go-to-market planning, and demand generation.

  • Support evaluation of potential partnerships, investments, licensing, and other strategic growth opportunities to differentiate and strengthen our value proposition.

  • Work closely with business development and sales to enhance channel impact, while being an excellent partner with leadership and key customers to drive influence.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA or Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of growing leadership experience in life sciences or clinical research environment.

  • Clear, confident, and effective communicator who can champion internal and external partnerships and deliver customer expectations.

  • Dynamic and collaborative leader who motivates global teams to deliver short and long-term results across a highly matrixed organization.

  • Passion for building and developing strong teams while encouraging a culture of integrity, intensity, inclusion, and innovation.

  • Track record of driving a balanced product and technology roadmap to drive growth through share gain and customer acquisition in new and existing markets.

  • Proven track record to drive key initiatives to completion with measurable outcomes.

  • Experience with in-licensing, business development, and sophisticated deal models in partnership with commercial colleagues.

  • Detailed understanding of clinical end markets, regulatory landscape, and working under a quality management system.

  • Travel 20-30% of time, domestic and international.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $231,200.00–$346,775.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
