PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT COORDINATOR

The Governor s Office of Planning  and Budget is seeking a Performance Improvement Coordinator to join the Management and Special Projects team to work on a newly formed program that will include conducting Efficiency Evaluations on targeted government processes. Salary will be commensurate on experience. You will lead and guide evaluation projects; recommend process improvement;  serve as a liaison between state agencies,the Efficiency and Process Improvement Committee (EPIC),and the Office of the Legislative Fiscal Analyst; plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage; and monitor progress to assure deadlines are met.

Principal Duties

  • Innovate,select,and implement the frameworks,methodologies,and tools to optimize operational efficiency and improve processes
  • Gather insights into the efficiency of work systems and processes and measure the effectiveness of the improvement efforts implemented
  • Consistently engage with strategic partners to keep them aware of projects as appropriate
  • Work with groups of stakeholders to foster relationships,generate trust,instill confidence in others and help transform the system in which they are working 
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis,such as assessing the effectiveness of current processes and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Regularly present final recommendations and issues directly to senior management,boards,commissions,local governments,or the legislature
  • Develop and recommend approaches for implementation of recommendations,policies,position papers,programs,regulations,etc
  • Write or draft technical reports,articles or related material for the department,institutions,and offices
  • Analyze,summarize and/or review data; report findings,interpret results and/or make recommendations
  • Facilitate the use of research data to improve existing programs and utilization of resources
  • Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws,regulations,and/or agency rules,standards and guidelines,etc  

     

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience with and/or education in process and organizational improvement
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Exceptional analytical,research,and quantitative skills
  • Analytical thinker who can provide insight to facilitate decision making
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects and work flows at the same time
  • Experience using a variety of data sets to develop solutions
  • Execute on projects while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Process-oriented with structured problem-solving skills,and an ability to work cross-functionally
  • Cursory understanding of government budgeting and processes
