Berks Counseling Center is a recovery-oriented behavioral health, physical health, and supportive services organization providing a holistic approach to a culturally and economically diverse population for the purpose of achieving a healthy and productive lifestyle.

As a Department Leader, you will provide clinical oversight of designated outpatient integrated behavioral health services within Berks Counseling Center. Will provide direct behavioral health clinical supervision to the supervisory clinical staff in addition to being responsible for representing clinical services within the community and as part of collaborative partnerships. Will be responsible for the oversight and overall success in various data measures, including state level outcome measures. 

Areas of responsibility and services include Behavioral Health Services, such as mental health treatment, drug & alcohol treatment, treatment courts, veterans' services, Child & Adolescent Services; Community Re-Entry Center (BCJS); Drug & Alcohol Services; or Intake & Admissions Services.

You will...

  • Hire, orient, train, and evaluate qualified supervisory staff for BCC's clinical programs.
  • Provide individual and group direct supervision of clinical team lead/supervisory staff.
  • Provide oversight and administrative support to each of the above areas of clinical programming. 
  • Identify training needs and assure compliance with clinical training expectations.
  • Evaluate patient concerns, complaints, or grievances related to clinical care and work in collaboration across departments, including physicians, to resolve those concerns.
  • Take a lead role in licensing, quality assurance, fidelity monitoring and other audits and site visits related to these programs.

     

To qualify for the position, you will need...

  • A master's degree in counseling, social work, or related behavioral health field 
  • At least three (3) years of experience overseeing related services. 
  • Licensure (LPC/LCSW) within one (1) year of hire. 
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week within agency hours of operation, which are 8am-8pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm Friday, with Saturday hours, when applicable.
  • A valid PA Driver's License and the ability to drive, travel, and provide community-oriented services.

*Preferred candidates will *have Knowledge of or experience with trauma-informed approaches preferred.

*Physical Requirements: * 

  • SEEING: Must be able to see well enough to read reports and use computer. 
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate in both individual and group settings. 
  • MOBILITY: Must have mobility to move about the agency. Must have mobility to move about the community and travel as needed on work related business.
  • LIFTING/PULLING/PUSHING: Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds.
  • OTHER: Must be able to write, type and use technology. 

All offers of employment are contingent upon the following

  • Receipt of results of a satisfactory drug and alcohol screening test. 
  • Receipt of the originals of the following background checks: PA State Police Criminal History, PA State Child Abuse, and DPW FBI Criminal History. These clearances must be valid within the 60 months prior to employment. A conviction is not a bar to employment; however, a review will be conducted to make a determination of employment should a conviction be present.
  • Receipt of original documentation and verification of relevant degrees, diplomas, certificates, or licensure.
  • Confirmation that you are not on the OIG Federal Healthcare Program Exclusion from Participation list. Should you appear on this list, Berks Counseling Center is prohibited from employing you.
  • This position may require you to operate BCC's company car or transport clients, so you must provide a 10-Year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a valid Driver's License

Salary Description: $62,300 - 68,200 / year
