Summary of job:

You will be responsible for completing a comprehensive clinical assessment on potential clients seeking admission to Berks Counseling Center as part of our Open Admission process. This will include completion of supporting documentation, orienting the client to services, and setting up the electronic health record.

  • Conduct face to face clinical behavioral health assessments on persons seeking services at Berks Counseling Center as part of BCC's multidisciplinary admissions team. 
  • Determine an appropriate level of care for each client based on established guidelines.
  • Assign client to an appropriate clinician based on his/her needs.
  • Utilize collaborative documentation to complete an intake note and comprehensive clinical assessment that meets compliance standards, medical necessity guidelines, and agency standards as to timeliness and accuracy of documentation.
  • Orient the client to agency policies and procedures and secure necessary consents and releases. 

To qualify for the position, you will need...

  • Bachelor's degree in a behavioral health, social work, or related area 
  • At least one (1) year documented work experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • To get PCB Certification within one year of employment. 
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week within agency hours of operation, which are 8am-8pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm Friday with Saturday hours, when applicable.

Preferred candidates will ...

  • Have a master's degree 
  • Be Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
  • Have Knowledge of or experience with trauma-informed approaches preferred.

*Physical Requirements: *

  • SEEING: Must be able to see well enough to read reports and use computer.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate to clients, vendors, and coworkers.
  • MOBILITY: Must have mobility to move about the agency.
  • LIFTING/PULLING/PUSHING: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • OTHER: Must be able to write, type and use technology.

All offers of employment are contingent upon the following

  • Receipt of results of a satisfactory drug and alcohol screening test. 
  • Receipt of the originals of the following background checks: PA State Police Criminal History, PA State Child Abuse, and DPW FBI Criminal History. These clearances must be valid within the 60 months prior to employment. A conviction is not a bar to employment; however, a review will be conducted to make a determination of employment should a conviction be present.
  • Receipt of original documentation and verification of relevant degrees, diplomas, certificates, or licensure.
  • Confirmation that you are not on the OIG Federal Healthcare Program Exclusion from Partici ation list. Should you appear on this list, Berks Counseling Center is prohibited from employing you.

  • *Bachelor's Degree: $41,400-43,400. *

  • Master's level: $45,100-47,300.
