Robert Half Sr. Accountant in PARSIPPANY, New Jersey

Description This role prepares and consolidates financial statements, analyzes and reconciles accounts, analyzes cash flow, creates budgets and forecasts, prepares audits, and manages internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting to attain company goals. To be successful, candidates need to be highly adept at analytics and working in challenging, fast-paced environments. Major responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

  • Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

  • Analyze financial information and report on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks)

  • Dedication to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

  • Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting

  • Prepare Balance Sheet account reconciliations Requirements - High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

  • Engages effectively in self-directed time management and prioritization of workload

  • Experience in SOX control execution/documentation

  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

  • Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus

  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

  • 3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

  • Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems

  • ERP system experience
