Manager Fellowship Program, Medical Education - Danbury, CT

Full time, 40 hours - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Purpose: The Program Manager is responsible for the operational and financial management of their assigned Graduate Medical Education program. The position requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of ACGME accreditation policies and procedures including new program development and accreditation. It will require a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The Program Manager will work with the Institutional Manager and GME leadership to assure coordination with Hospital Medical Staff, Health System Physician Practices and Hospital Operations. The Program Manager will spend .5 FTE working with GME on projects that have been outlined by GME leadership throughout the year.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Review available resources (e.g. Residency or Fellowship Management System) and/or identify new resources needed to support the effective organization, communication and reporting of HQ program accreditation data to meet emerging ACGME requirements.

  2. Oversee institutional accreditation information updates made by DIO and coordinators in the various GME-related national systems (e.g. ADS, FREIDA, etc.).

  3. Serve as liaison with Nuvance GME Leadership, Quality, IS, Risk Management and other departments needed for participation ACGME/CLER visits.

  4. Work with Program Directors, GME leadership, faculty, and other stakeholders to identify professional development needs related to accreditation and education, core curriculum development and implementation.

  5. Oversee and develop core curriculum offerings for GME program.

  6. Provide leadership and management, including recruitment, orientation and on-going support.

  7. Work with DME to provide opportunities for staff development related to, accreditation, education, and process improvement.

  8. Develop and implement a GME Best Practice resource system for HQ sponsored programs.

  9. Actively liaise with the ACGME and other relevant organizations to ensure institutional compliance.

  10. Travel to attend and/or present at professional development opportunities.

  11. Maintain contemporary professional knowledge and education.

  12. Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable attendance

  13. Performs other duties as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution.

· Graduate medical education experience at the program or institutional level in an Academic Medical Center or an ACGME accredited training program.

· PREFER: Master’s degree in Business, Administration, or Education.

· Functional Oversight : Issue identification, gap analysis, ability to prioritize business needs and execute solutions

Salary Range: $31.2528 - $58.0482 hourly, commensurate with experience
