The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
The Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics is looking to hire Technician B to work in the laboratory of Dr. Anum Glasgow for one year only. The candidate will be technical support staff for the Principal Investigator and other lab investigators, as needed.
Responsibilities
Duties will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Developing the PARROTS pipeline: Protein Antivirals by Rapid Redesign of Tertiary Structures. PARROTS is a computational/experimental platform to produce HSA-traps and, antibody-alternative protein therapeutics, from antigen sequences.
- Setting up equipment for experiments.
- Carrying out fully planned experiments.
- Assisting in collection of samples.
- Keeping records of the results of experiments.
- Ordering and maintaining lab supplies.
- Preparing laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments and maintain equipment.
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics, or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Other Requirements
- Other Special Indicators: Chemicals (Safety Training required).
