The  Shorelands & Environmental Assistance{rel="nofollow"} (SEA) program within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill a * SEPA Rule Writer (Environmental Planner 3)* position.  This position will be located in our Headquarters Office in* *Lacey, WA.{rel="nofollow"} Upon hire, you must live within a commutable distance from the duty station.

In this position, you will serve as an associate planner responsible for guiding the development of SEPA rulemaking activity. You will provide expertise and consultation to staff of other Ecology environmental programs, other state agencies, local government, tribes, and other concerned organizations. You will also provide interpretation, guidance, and training on SEPA to Ecology staff, other agencies, consultants, and the public. You will support the agency and program missions of environmental protection and conservation by helping others complete SEPA reviews that reflect those values.  

 

To be successful in this position, you will need a strong working knowledge of the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and also the ability to foster strong professional relationships with colleagues, residents, resource professionals, and other interested parties.
