Job Details Good Shepherd Hospice is seeking a dynamic Associate Vice President (AVP), Hospice for our expanding Community and Hospice Inpatient programs. Reporting directly to the President of Good Shepherd Hospice, this key leadership position will be responsible for clinical management of nursing and interdisciplinary services as well as program expansion, fiscal and program development, quality management and program compliance. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: The development of strategic initiatives/goals related to Hospice, patient experience and all interdisciplinary services to improve clinical and key performance initiatives (KPIs). Provides leadership to maximize program efficiencies, productivity, accountability and revenue. Participates with investigation of incidents, infection control and patient/physician dissatisfaction reporting system. Systematically aggregates this information for trends and implements program/service delivery process changes as required. Assures compliance with all corporate and vendor contracts, standards of care and program policies and procedures. Actively develops and participates in initiatives to promote census growth in service area initiatives in community, skilled nursing facilities and inpatient areas. Develops and evaluates action plans for correcting clinical performance deficits, including quality assurance, performance improvement, safety/infection control and standards of practice. Working with the President of Good Shepherd Hospice and Catholic Health Home Care, participates in planning, priority setting, identifies/develops/evaluates current and future goals to enhance the mission of hospice within Catholic Health and the community at large. Develops strategic initiatives/goals in conjunction with other Catholic Health facilities for program growth and service expansion. Identifies and facilitates new business contracts for program expansion. Develops an annual staffing plan that supports budgetary objectives, including ideal skills mix, percentage of full time versus part time or contract staff. Generates innovative ideas and applies change best practices to ensure impact of key initiatives. Prepares budgets for the agency, including projected volume and financial assumptions, and monitors performance. Achieves budgetary goals for productivity, staffing, revenues, and expense management. Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree in healthcare, business or relevant area required Current and valid NY State license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Medical Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW) Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare management Thorough knowledge of Medicare Conditions of Participation, Hospice concepts, philosophy, policies and procedures Demonstrated ability to identify the needs of patient populations and plan for delivery of competent-quality care delivering successful outcomes. Excellent leadership, oral, written and presentation skills Salary Range USD $175,000.00 - USD $225,000.00 /Yr. This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job, and it does not include the value of benefits.
