Job Description

Danfoss is looking for a Senior HR Generalist to join our HR Team in our Eden Prairie, MN manufacturing facility. The Senior HR Generalist will support employee relations, HRIS data updates and strongly collaborate with operations leaders in a union manufacturing environment. This role will report to HR Manager and work on-site. Relocation and work authorization support is not available for this position.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.

  • Participates in the investigation and resolution of ongoing employee relations issues, anticipates problems whenever possible, and develops, recommends, and initiates appropriate steps for resolution.

  • Supports contingent, hourly and salary recruiting, and new hire onboarding.

  • Handles employee relations counseling, stay and exit interviews; analyzes data and makes recommendations to management for corrective action and improvements.

  • Assists in the evaluation of reports and results of the HR team in relation to established goals.

  • Supports local Reward and Recognition initiatives.

  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures supporting the continuous improvements in efficiency of the team and the HR services provided. Leads or supports projects and initiatives associated with improvements.

  • Supports the HR Manager in the management of production areas

  • Administer and coordinates various human resources plans and procedures and assists in the development, implementation and review of local policies and procedures.

  • Supports labor relations management, maintains compliance to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and advise managers as needed.

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and standard operating procedures.

  • Maintains employment records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO/AAP/ADA regulations and requirements.

  • Maintains and expands knowledge and understanding of existing and proposed federal and state laws/regulations affecting HR management and business trends in the HR field.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills.

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • 2+ years progressive HR generalist work experience

  • Flex work schedule to support employees and managers on off-shifts on a regular basis

  • Previous HR generalist experience focused in employee relations is strongly preferred

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility/environment is strongly preferred

  • PHR or SPHR certification is preferred

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Able to objectively consult and coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues

  • Demonstrate an ability to research and analyze various types of data to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with the standards, practices, polices, procedures, regulations, or law

  • Ability to prioritize projects

  • Demonstrate an ability to get results with a sense of urgency
