Support FRIB Accelerator Operations in delivering ion beams.  Development on delivering ion beams from a 14 GHz ECR ion source for injection into the superconducting linac of the FRIB accelerator.  Lead commissioning effort of the new superconducting ECR ion source.  Lead design of improved plasma chamber for high power operation.  Lead commissioning of 28 GHz gyrotron and integration with Superconducting ECR ion source.  Participate in relevant research, present and publish scientific results.  Qualified candidates will possess a Ph.D. in Nuclear Technology, Physics or closely related field, and one year of experience as a Engineer, or any related position in fundamental physics research.  Must have one year of experience with ECR ion sources, vacuum systems, mechanical design, RF System, thermal analysis, and ion beam optics.  Chris Bargerstock, Michigan State University, Facility for Rare Isotope Beams, 640 S.
