Robert Half Accountant in Detroit, Michigan

Description We are looking for an Accountant to join our team based in Detroit, Michigan. This role is primarily focused on performing account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with month-end procedures. This position offers a hybrid schedule, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work. The employment type for this role is a contract position.

Responsibilities:

• Perform account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.

• Prepare accurate journal entries in line with company policies.

• Maintain detailed listings of the contents of all balance sheet accounts.

• Assist with the month-end closing process, ensuring the timely completion of tasks.

• Provide support in generating and preparing various monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports.

• Utilize strong accounting knowledge to handle various general ledger functions.

• Conduct bank reconciliations regularly and in a timely manner.

• Perform credit card reconciliations as part of the company's financial procedures.

• Assist in other accounting projects as needed, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills. Requirements • Must possess a strong understanding and practical experience with General Ledger

• Demonstrated experience with Journal Entries is required

• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations is crucial for this role

• Experience with Credit Card Reconciliation is essential

• Must have hands-on experience with Month End Close processes

• Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is required

• Must have strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is necessary

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Professional accounting certification, such as CPA, is a plus.
