We have an opening for a Research Manager or Senior Research Manager to join our True Global Intelligence (TGI) team. Location is flexible and this is a hybrid role based in one of our local offices. FleishmanHillard’ s TRUE Global Intelligence practice serves as a strategic enabler to the broader organization by harnessing research and data-driven insights to achieve client business objectives. This position will focus on primary survey and qualitative research and is ideal for someone interested in designing and executing research from start to finish. Candidates with experience in statistical analysis applicable to many types of data (survey and non-survey) are especially encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and synthesize insights to provide strategic recommendations based on research and analytics findings.

  • Design quantitative and qualitative research projects from scratch. Execute projects from beginning to end with some supervision.

  • Serve as project manager for primary research projects - owning all aspects of the timeline and communicating accordingly with clients and colleagues.

  • Manage 3-5 projects in various stages as the same time.

  • Manage vendors, field work, and data processing.

  • Be a subject matter expert in research able to apply best practices to a wide variety of research objectives and client industries.

  • Respond to RFPs, scope research, and develop research proposals to meet client objectives.

  • Oversee and coordinate junior analysts’ work on projects.

  • Curate best practices, lessons learned from portfolio projects; collaborate with peers to recommend improvements to quality standards established for the practice.

Qualifications

  • 4-6+ years’ total experience in primary research, ideally in an internal or external supplier role.

  • 3+ years of experience in quantitative and qualitative research preferred (a mixed methods background preferred, but expertise in one methodology will still be considered)

  • 3+ years of experience in research project management.

  • 3+ years of experience in a client-facing role.

  • Proven analytical and deductive reasoning skills; able to translate findings into meaningful insights that meet client objectives/address their business challenges.

  • Knowledgeable about common market research and comms applications such as message development, creative testing, audience exploration, thought leadership, issues management.

  • Experience with development of primary research instruments including survey questionnaire and interview guides.

  • Experience programming and managing survey fieldwork and vendors.

  • Strong project management skills; capable of setting priorities, meeting deadlines, and managing projects.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including Top-notch presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to explain research to non-researchers and in a compelling way.

  • Multitasker, curious, self-starter, proactive, problem solver, and ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as a member of a team.

  • Strong skills in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Cultivate diverse teams and contribute to an inclusive working and learning environment.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience overseeing junior analysts.

  • Experience in responding to RFPs, scoping research, and proposal writing.

  • Familiarity with quality assurance measures for data collection and reporting.

  • Capable of performing advanced statistical analysis and running predictive models (regression models, factor analysis, cluster analysis and similar methods).

  • Proficiency with analytic software (e.g., R, SPSS) - Q/DisplayR proficiency a bonus

  • Experience programming and managing survey fieldwork in Decipher (or similar survey development tool).

  • Experience with digital scraping tools (e.g., Crimson Hexagon, Netbase, Quid, TalkWalker, etc.).

The anticipated salary range for the Research Manager position is $67,000-$84,000. The anticipated salary range for the Senior Research Manager role is $77,000-$103,000.

Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications and geography. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off and/or other benefits also are available.
