Splunk Engineer Team: Business IT / internal IT of SoftwareOne | pensum: full time | location: Chennai The role The key responsibilities : Build and maintain a Splunk instance utilizing the right sized Infrastructure on Customer’s premises or Splunk Cloud Support customer in selecting IT Operational Use Cases and identifying log sources Ingest all logs from systems identified in data sources identified by Customer in project Perform Data Normalization activities Design and build Splunk SIEM, Installs, Upgrades, Migration solutions and processes as per agreed philosophy to be delivered on time, within budget, achieving agreed quality standards Run PoC and pilots for new Cyber Operational tools as per agreed roadmaps and produce report and decision matrix for each PoC or pilot Ensure the thorough and successful handover of new projects from Sales to Delivery and from Delivery to Customers Build senior management relationships with clients and where required working with clients to resolve any disputes associated to their projects Represent Supplier at client steering committee meetings or other management meetings Ensure that project success criteria is agreed and disseminated to involved parties throughout project lifecycle Provide management leadership and mentoring to Solution Specialists, Subject Matter Experts, Delivery managers and team Report status to management and above, escalating major project risks and issues impacting projects Identify opportunities for new service offerings or additional business opportunities to enhance value added services and support growth of the business. Ensure successful transition to a managed services model, while delivering a next-generation technology strategy and continuously improving the IT operating model Provide day-to-day management and execution support through partnership with senior leadership team Drive internal and third-party service review meetings covering performance, service improvements, quality and processes Make recommendations for Service Improvement Plans and ensure actions are followed through to completion in a timely manner Work with internal and third-party teams to ensure actions are taken and completed to protect and improve services Provide regular and accurate management reporting on IT Service performance What we need to see from you Work Experience 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in IT including implementing IT/business transformational initiatives of varying scope and complexity that deliver strategic capabilities in an enterprise environment End to End Splunk Services in terms of Design, Architecture, Implementation, Go- Live, Transition, and Production support/Service delivery Experienced in working with three or more of the following technologies; SIEM, UBA, Operating Systems, Databases, ERP, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, Good experience in handling global customers Excellent Stakeholder management Demonstrated ability to balance competing requirements and interests, keeping team focused on top priorities, and finding ways to achieve win-win outcomes by encouraging new ways at looking at problems, processes and solutions Comfortable under pressure with the ability to manage to tight deadlines while maintaining quality and managing to an acceptable level of risk Hands-on and results-oriented approach Experience of Splunk Deployment (architecture and engineering) – to have setup at least 3 large enterprise environments Usage of Splunk for operational use cases – to have setup at least 40 Operational Use Cases To have onboarded at least 3 non-standard log source types and onboarded at least 20 types of Standard log sources Requirements Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering or related field and/or equivalent work experience Industry certificates from publishers such as Splunk, High degree of EQ- Emotional Quotient.
