Robert Half Help Desk Technician in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

We are currently seeking a talented Help Desk Technician to join our client's IT support team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and efficient resolution of issues. This role requires expertise in Active Directory, Windows operating systems, Office 365, ServiceNow, basic networking knowledge, and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly and effectively to IT support requests from end-users via various channels, including phone, email, and ticketing system (ServiceNow).

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Active Directory, Windows operating systems, Office 365 applications, and basic networking.

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware components, including desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.

  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory, ensuring security and compliance.

  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to end-users on IT-related matters, including software usage and best practices.

  • Document and track all support activities, including resolutions, in the ticketing system (ServiceNow), ensuring accurate and thorough records.

  • Collaborate with other IT teams to escalate and resolve complex issues in a timely manner.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of IT support documentation and knowledge base articles.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in Active Directory user and group administration, including Group Policy management.

  • In-depth knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Experience with Office 365 suite administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.

  • Familiarity with IT service management tools, preferably ServiceNow.

  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs.

  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users effectively.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, CompTIA A+) are a plus.

  • Previous experience in a help desk or technical support role is preferred.
