Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Description

We are inviting applications for the role of a higher education institute, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This position is an integral part of the accounts payable team, to provide assistant processing and maintenance of accounts payable records, invoices, reimbursements, vendor statements, and financial reports. This position provides an opportunity to work in a hybrid model, with two days on-site and the rest remotely.

Responsibilities:

• Process approximately 100 invoices on a weekly basis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Play an integral role in transitioning the current paper-based system to an electronic one

• Maintain accurate records of accounts payable

• Handle student refunds and reimbursements in accordance with company policies

• Regularly update and reconcile vendor statements

• Prepare and distribute 1099 forms

• Use skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Coding Invoices, Data Entry, Invoice Processing, and Microsoft Excel to perform tasks efficiently

• Collaborate with other team members and report to the Accounts Payable Manager and Controller

• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including undergoing a background check before starting the role

• Display professionalism and reliability in all tasks and interactions

• Multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) procedures and systems

• Experience in check runs and coding invoices

• Ability to process invoices accurately and timely

• Strong data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software

• Good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High level of integrity and reliability

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

• Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as required by the job function

• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and initiative in previous roles.
