The Bell Lab in the Division of Cardiology is seeking a Laboratory Science Professional who is highly motivated and eager to learn, conduct research, and work as a team with other laboratory staff. The lab is building a program to study mechanistic interactions of cancer and cancer therapeutics with the cardiovascular system using mouse models, routine in vitro assays, multi-omics, and patient data. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in a wet bench laboratory, performing routine molecular biology assays, and working with mouse models. Candidates should be enthusiastic to work with the Principal Investigator in developing the operating framework of a new lab, testing and troubleshooting new experimental approaches, and creating a lab culture of collaboration, innovation, and high-quality science. This is a full-time laboratory position and so requires working a regular, in-person schedule (expectation of a 40-hour, five-day work week).

– this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

The Division of Cardiology is invested in growing its footprint in the basic and translational cardiovascular research space with several new scientists and physician scientists looking to establish and grow their programs. This is a collegial environment with a community dedicated to producing high quality science, and in the process helping everyone work towards their own career goals and aspirations. Joining the Bell Lab offers the opportunity to think about complex biology and pathophysiology at the intersection of cardiovascular disease, cancer, and aging. Depending on applicant goals, there is also opportunity to learn about computational methods and translation of research findings to patient data and clinical trial design, moving fluidly between bench and bedside. The University of Colorado offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, life insurance, retirement plans, tuition benefits, ECO pass, paid time off – vacation, sick, holidays and more.
