Job Description

Responsibilities may include:

  • Timely execution of an established sourcing process for all projects will be expected. This includes all aspects of the process from initial project scope development through implementation. Scope out new potential sourcing projects. Conceive, initiate, develop, communicate, and manage the execution of category strategies. Ability to communicate technically and professionally to suppliers and scientists is essential.

  • Expert technical and analytical abilities to gather, analyse and establish spend baselines as a starting point for each sourcing process. In addition, the incumbent must possess the analytical abilities to perform complex analyses of the spend data, market data and the various supplier proposals, in order to yield fact based decisions that address the requisite needs of the key stakeholders for the material or service under evaluation.

  • Responsible for supporting successful cross-functional sourcing projects that yield significant benefit to the corporation including; security of supply of key materials, savings, re-engineered business procedures, sustainable long term agreements and risk mitigating supply strategies.

  • This position communicates with management and key stakeholder groups affected by the teams sourcing decisions. The incumbent influences and inspires others toward the achievement of organizational objectives across functional areas. Build and sustain highly credible professional presence with internal cross function stakeholders and external suppliers. Builds rapport and assures alignment and strong communication with multiple stakeholder groups.

Skilled approach to execution of the negotiation process including usage of information, best-of-breed practice and deal closure. Properly convert the negotiated deals to performance based, legally sound contracts that serve as a guide for on-going supplier management and program sustainability.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Chemistry/Biology, Engineering, Business, or like degree. Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) - desired.

  • 2-5 years of total combined minimum experience required.

  • Required experiences: Recognized as Sourcing Authority, Negotiation expertise, Project Management, Conflict Resolution, basic expertise in Workplace Safety requirements, Supply Chain Management, Value Engineering, Cost Analysis, Financial Analysis, Quality Systems and Documentation, Regulatory Issues, Compliance, Contracting Experience, Technical Experience. Strong Communication/Persuasion, Presentation and Interpersonal Skills.

  • Demonstrates the ability to plan, execute and measure successful project implementations.

  • Full professional language proficiency (written and spoken) required in English and Chinese/Mandarin

  • Basic scientific understanding of pharmaceutical/medical device manufacturing processes desirable
