An excellent career opportunity is available for a Lead Electrician located at UOP's Research & Pilot Plant facility in McCook, IL.

Job responsibilities include being chief troubleshooter for a team of several electricians, advising the team in the selection, layout, and installation of electrical and data communication systems to support continuous operation, attending daily planning meetings, and maintaining parts inventory. You will also work with one-line drawings of high voltage electrical distribution systems, sub-stations, and building transfer systems and be responsible for setting up plant instrumentation per the manufacturer's instruction and the process requirements. You will troubleshoot complex and uncommon electrical systems and instrumentation up to PLC software. The Lead Electrician supports both R&D pilot plants and manufacturing plants at this facility.

While the job is based out of the McCook, IL facility, must be capable of working at our Des Plaines facility if the site requires support.

YOU MUST HAVE

• High School Diploma or GED

WE VALUE

• Working knowledge of electrical distribution systems such as 3Ø delta and 3Ø wye as well as motor control centers.

• Previous electrical control system experience is preferred

• Working knowledge of process control including plant instruments.

• Mechanical aptitude

• Organizational skills

• Outstanding collaboration and interpersonal skills

• Creative problem solving

• Working knowledge of MS Office

• Must lift up to 35 pounds, work on elevated platforms as well as climb ladders and use portable lifts.

• Must be able to climb fixed ladders 100’

• Working safely at all times

• Experience troubleshooting in an industrial environment

• Experience leading team of electricians

• Must be able to be on call one week a month and work emergency overtime on short notice.
