The Bioanalytics Systems and Technologies Group focuses on driving analytics to take advantage of vast and rapidly expanding biological datasets to address national security needs. The Group’s efforts include developing software architectures and systems, bioinformatics tools, and AI algorithms to further the nation’s efforts in chemical and biological defense, biosecurity, public and global health and warfighter performance. Our multidisciplinary team works on integrating data from molecular/genomic levels to physiological system scales, while ensuring systems and data remain secure and private.

Job Description

Assistant Staff – Software Engineer

The Bioanalytics Systems & Technologies Group focuses on driving analytics to take advantage of vast and rapidly expanding biological datasets to address national security needs. The Group’s efforts include developing software architectures and systems, bioinformatics tools, and AI algorithms to further the nation’s efforts in chemical and biological defense, biosecurity, public and global health and warfighter performance.

Our group is seeking a highly motivated computer scientist to join our diverse and multi-functional team. In this role, you will be an integral part of the team focusing on prototyping, contributing to the enhancement and development of our group’s growing set of data science enabling platforms and decision support tools to meet the needs of the US Government. As an assistant staff, you will contribute to the full-stack development efforts including but not limited to AI/ML pipelines, harmonization of medical and health data, web-based app development, and microservices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

  • Knowledge of software design and development life-cycle

  • 1-3 years of work experience (work experience during school counts) in software development.

  • Excellent communications (written and oral) skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills.
