Are you a recent graduate with a passion for structural engineering? Kickstart your career with us at AECOM as a Graduate Engineer – Structural focusing on Bridge + Tunnel projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers and contribute to exciting and impactful projects.

Role Overview

As a Graduate Engineer – Structural in our Abu Dhabi office, you will collaborate with our team to assist in the design and analysis of various structural elements. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will develop your skills in structural modeling, calculations, and project coordination. This role will provide hands-on experience in structural engineering within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project models as per specific discipline requirement. Works on drawings under the supervision of an experienced Engineer.

  • Assists with the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs under project timelines.

  • Under Supervision, performs work following the agreed-upon budget and schedule.

  • When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving fundamental engineering problems.

  • Coordinates with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the continuity of the design process.

  • Participates in design progress and coordination meetings.

  • Checks and ensures the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions.

  • Actively seeks information, opportunities to participate and contribute, and develops efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Contributes by solving problems and applying experience or theoretical knowledge to atypical assignments.

  • Application of structural analysis and design principles.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  1. Must have a Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering from an accredited University with prior coursework in structural engineering during their Bachelor's Degree.

  2. Candidates must be recent graduates, having graduated within the last 24 months or no later than September 2024, to be eligible for AECOM's Graduate Program.

  3. Successful applicants must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.3 or 2:1 (or equivalent) and above.

  4. Master’s Degree must have started within 12 months of completing Bachelor’s Degree to ensure continuous education and meet program requirements.

  5. Candidates with more than 1 year of postgraduate work experience are not eligible for the program and are encouraged to apply for our professional-level roles instead.

  6. Any software experience including BIM, or any relevant computer programming would be beneficial.

  • Program Orientation: November 2024 (This includes an induction and meet-and-greet for the entire graduate cohort from all our offices in the ME).
